Soon after becoming a free agent for hire, I was called upon by one of the legendary crip writers of our time, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, to take some fresh author photos for their upcoming poetry book, The Way Disabled People Love Each Other, which I can now attest is a banger.
Having spent years doing product photography, and years before that doing street photography, I was eager to finally finally bust out my portrait lens. What started as a “let’s just see how things go” meet-up to scout locations turned into the full shoot, as the autumn light was too good and available time was short.
